Every time I’m in LA, I gotta get my coffee fix before 6 hours of class. There are SO many little coffee shops in LA it’s kind of hard to pick favorites. I like the coffee shops below because they have something unique about them. They’re not just the run-of-the-mill Scandanavian decor, well-dressed-barista kind of shops. Here are West LA’s best coffee shops.
Anyways, you probably didn't care to hear my rant. Here's my coffee exploration journey from my city: Dallas, TX.
The D has surprisingly fantastic coffee. The hipsters have taken over & I LOVE IT. Here's an overview of some of my favorites.
Recently, Coffee Shop opened in the city center of Walnut Creek... a few doors down from a Peet's coffee. DUN DUN DUN!
The Incumbent.
For those of you not on the West Coast, Peet's is like Starbucks - except bolder. It guarantees you a 3.5/5 coffee. Our incumbent has outdoor seating and has been at its location longer than I've been alive.
It's patrons (called Peet-ics) are early morning bikers, yoga women (/men), and pre-work coffee drinkers (so basically everyone).
As you can see, Coffee Shop made a bold and dangerous move setting up shop next to Peet's.
I've scoured the most hipster parts of Austin in search for the best latte. I've spent countless nights studying at Bennu, and mornings getting pick-me-ups at Mozart's. I go out of my way to try new coffee shops- even if I feel like they're going to be bad. Essentially, this is a coffee list compiled of blood, sweat, and tears. Enjoy!
