Fried Tofu Wrap: Inaizushi

Fried Tofu Wrap: Inaizushi

Flavors: Sweet, meaty, spicy

If you’ve never had Inaizushi, it’s like a tofu meat dumpling. They’re sweet and slightly spicy. You can find the tofu skin wrapper at H Mart or Ranch 99. Buy the big ones - don’t be like me. I spent TOO much time stuffing multiple cups of rice into tiny tofu packets. Talk about annoying.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups sushi rice (this is my favorite brand because it’s perfectly chewy and squishy)

  • 1 pound of ground meat (beef, pork, chicken, or turkey)

  • 2 tbsp gochujiang

  • 1 tsp hondashi

  • 2 tbsp soy sauce

  • sesame oil

  • handful of shredded carrots (optional)

  • 2 scallions sliced thinly

  • sesame seeds (optional)

  • Tofu skins - you can find these at Ranch 99 / H Mart

Instructions

  1. Cook sushi rice per instructions.

  2. Stir fry ground meat.

  3. Add in carrots and white part of scallions (chopped).

  4. Mix rice with cooked ground meat.

  5. Add soy sauce, hondashi, gochujang, green part of the green onion (chopped), and sesame oil and mix.

  6. Stuff tofu skins with rice mixture & serve.
