Day 6.2: Camping at Lake Paringa

Day 6.2: Camping at Lake Paringa

It's Day 6.2 of the 9 day summer journey through New Zealand's North and South Island. Sleep levels are low, but morale is high. The camper van was a good decision.

Taking camper van through New Zealand allows you to see a lot more of the country. You can rest wherever you want and wake up in a different city every day. Eventually, I'll write a post about why you should camper van your way across New Zealand's North & South Island. Until then, here are some photos of Lake Paringa.

Lake Paringa (like much of New Zealand) is gorgeous. The lake is a part of the West Coast of New Zealand, which is known for its rainforest. Because of this, the campsite is humid with a chance of sand flies. Regardless, you're surrounded by hills and it is gorgeous.

Make sure you bring repellant - or you will find yourself seeking shelter.

Warning: Do not go to Pack & Save to pick up wine. You will be disappointed.
