Vacation Pro Tips: Talk to the Coffee Shop Barista: East London Bakery Tour

One of the most under appreciated professions is the coffee shop barista. There’s a lot of talent in grinding beans, weighing them, and pulling the perfect espresso shot. I would know- I’ve had a lot of terrible coffee in my life.

On top of stellar espresso skills, coffee shop baristas possess the skill of guiding you to the hipster areas in town- to other coffee shops and snackeries.

In London, we went to Origin Roasters and the barista legit wrote me a London bakery crawl! I felt like I was in Legend of Zelda being offered a side quest- I had to accept!

Here’s the walk- I would highly recommend. Along with seeing the major sites in London, I love seeing the local hub bub. This is a perfect way to get a taste of that. Literally.

Anyways, rambling won’t do this tour justice. Here are some photos instead.

The tour took us through quaint neighborhood with street art, street food, and cute brick architecture. The locals were probably wondering why we were touring their small neighborhoods.

The buildings of Colombia Road reminded me of old small towns.

This meal at Canpania was LIT. Pasta and a glass of wine for 10 pounds. Absolutely worth it.
