Lazy Girl's [Quarantine] Flourless Chocolate Torte

Lazy Girl's [Quarantine] Flourless Chocolate Torte

Are you a chocolate torte or lemon tart?

I’m kidding - this isn’t another food personality test. But for those of you who are chocolate tortes at heart, sometimes you NEED chocolate. NEED IT. During these quarantine times, it’s hard to go out for ingredients to satisfy your chocolate dessert cravings. This is my go-to recipe when I’m in a pinch. It’s easy to make, has simple ingredients... and most importantly it’s SUPER smooth and chocolate-y and creamy. Enjoy with a glass of milk.Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup milk

  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

  • 3/4 cup brown sugar

  • 1 bag of chocolate chips - I like Guittard

  • 1 cup of unsalted butter

  • 6 eggs

  • Cocoa Powder

Instructions

  1. Preheat you oven to 300 degrees F.

  2. Butter a round cake pan.

  3. Heat salt, milk and sugar in a saucepan and dissolve.

  4. Melt chocolate chips in a double broiler. If you don’t have a double broiler, place a metal bowl over a boiling pot of water. Make sure the bowl is large enough to add the other ingredients.

  5. Chop butter into pieces and add to the hot chocolate sauce and mix to melt.

  6. Beat in the sugar solution.

  7. Beat in the eggs one at a time.

  8. Pour the mixture into the cake pan.

  9. Bake at 300 degrees F for 45 mins.

  10. Let the torte cool & place in fridge for a few hours.

  11. Slice it up, sprinkle on some cocoa powder & serve.
